What Works For You In Partial Shade?

Our vegetable garden is sectioned into four quadrants with a circle of herbs in the center. One quarter is filled with raspberries and blueberries, two are rotating and the last is sun challenged due to a neighbors tree that has grown too big, (in my opinion). I've read Kale doesn't need a tremendous amount of light, so that's what I'm trying. Wish me luck! And, let me know what you have had success with when light is limited.
